Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is a soft tissue treatment technique that utilizes stainless steel instruments to treat a variety of soft tissue dysfunctions. Injuries that occur due to trauma or overuse sometimes lead to an over proliferation of scar tissue and chronic inflammation causing reduced mobility, altered mechanics, pain and limited function. IASTM is an evidence-based technique which facilitates the breakdown of soft tissue restrictions and promotes faster healing of soft tissue pathologies.
Strive has been using the Gavilan IASTM Technique since 2010 to help restore range of motion and enhance athletic performance. The Gavilan Technique is used and trusted by physical therapists, athletic trainers and professional sports teams such as the World Champion San Francisco Giants and San Jose Earthquakes.
